Correct visa fee for visa service are accepted at the Embassy in cash in Armenian Dram. Please note that tampered currency notes will not be accepted.

Duly completed application form along with a photocopy of the passport. (Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationals need to apply on special application forms). Applicants holding nationality other than Armenian/Georgian should fill out an additional form (Telefax for visa clearance) along with visa application and also attach a copy of the first page of their passport.
Visa Application from the foreign spouse of an Indian national should be accompanied with a copy of the passport of the Indian spouse (first and the last laminated pages) with English translation and notarized.
All Armenian/Georgian nationals applying for Visa are requested to submit a copy of Passport along with the Application Form. Other foreigners residing in Armenia/Georgia are requested to submit a copy of their passport along with Residence Permit/Registration issued by Armenian/Georgian Government.
VISA PROCESSING TIME
It would normally take two working days to issue visa. However, in the following cases processing of visa applications will take longer:
Applicants not resident in Armenia/Georgia.
Where clearance from India is mandatory.
Visitors to restricted areas. [Visitors to restricted/protected areas in India areas like Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Parts of Himachal Pradesh, Parts of Jammu & Kashmir and Parts of Rajasthan need special permits and for this purpose an additional form has to be completed. Please contact the Embassy if you wish to ascertain whether any of the places you intend to visit fall in the category of restricted/protected areas. ]

Please note that each application is examined individually and the time taken for issuing visas will vary from case to case.
All wrongly filled and incomplete visa applications will be summarily rejected. Please fill names and dates very carefully with complete details of profession, name and address of the office/employer, complete home address, etc.
TYPES OF VISA
TOURIST VISA (TV)
A Tourist Visa is given to those visiting India for purposes related to tourism, recreation, sight-seeing and to meet friends/relatives.
Please note:
Tourist Visa valid up to 3/6 months is issued.
The validity of the visa is effective from the date of issue.
There shall be a gap of at least 02 (two) months between two visits to India on a Tourist Visa on re-entry of nationals of Afghanistan, China, Iran, Pakistan, Iraq, Sudan, Bangladesh, foreigners of Pakistan and Bangladesh origins and Stateless persons.
Requirements
For applicants holding Armenian and Georgian passports
One duly filled in application form.
Two passport size photographs showing full frontal fore-view of 5.1 x 5.1 cms size (2” x 2”) (Duly pasted on the space provided in the application form).
Confirmed copies of return air ticket bookings and hotel bookings.
Proof of financial status/latest bank statement for those who seek longer duration of visit in India.
Visa will normally be issued on the next working day upon receipt of application in the Embassy.
For applicants holding other than Armenian and Georgian Passports
One duly filled in application form along with additional Telefax Form as and where required.
Two passport size photographs showing full frontal fore view of 5.1 x 5.1 cms size (2” x 2”) (Duly pasted on the space provided in the application form).
Valid Resident Permit for stay in Armenia/Georgia.
Proof of financial status/latest bank statement.
Confirmed bookings of return air ticket and hotel bookings.
Visa will normally be issued after five working days upon receipt of application in the Embassy.
TOURIST VISA ON ARRIVAL (TVOA)
The nationals of the following countries visiting India for tourism purposes will be granted visa valid up to 30 days on arrival at the designated airports namely, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata: Finland, Japan, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines, Laos, Indonesia and Myanmar.
Media related professionals, Journalists and Police or Armed forces personnel traveling to India on Tourist Visa, in addition to the requirements listed in preceding paragraph, these applicants are also required to submit any of the following additional documents:
Letter from the employer stating the purpose of travel.
An undertaking stating that the applicant will not do any media or media-related work during his/ her stay in India.
Applicants working with Police or Armed forces, traveling to India for tourism purposes are required to provide a signed declaration from their employer, confirming that the purpose of their visit to India is purely for tourism and that they will not be in any way engaging in their professional activities during their stay in India.

While the requirements for Tourist visa have been detailed to the extent possible, the Visa Officer may ask for any additional information/document/requirement as the case may be prior to receiving the visa application for consideration.
BUSINESS VISA (BV)
A Business Visa is given to those foreign nationals/experts/specialists/trainees of multinational companies/corporate houses desirous to visit India:
to establish industrial/business venture or to explore possibilities to set up industrial/business venture in India;
to purchase/sell industrial products or commercial products or consumer durables;
for technical meetings/discussions, attending Board meetings, general meetings for providing business services support;
for recruitment of manpower;
who are partners in the Business and/or functioning as Directors in the company;
for consultations regarding exhibitions, for participation in exhibitions, trade fairs, business fairs, etc.;
to transact business with suppliers/ potential suppliers at locations in India, to evaluate or monitor quality, give specifications, place orders, negotiate further supplies etc., relating to goods or services procured from India;
for a short duration in connection with an ongoing project with the objective of monitoring the progress of the work, conducting meetings with Indian customers and/or to provide some high level technical guidance;
for pre-sales or post-sales activity not amounting to actual execution of any contract or project;
for in-house training in the regional hubs of the concerned company located in India;
foreign students sponsored by AIESEC for internship on project based work in companies/industries
Business visas are normally valid up to six months with single/double/multiple entries. However, the period of stay in India (for each visit) under this category is limited to six months only. Please note that the validity of the visa is effective from the date of issue. Those who are applying to work for an Indian company should apply for an Employment Visa. However, applicants are advised to read FAQs in respect of Business Visa and Employment Visa given in our website before applying. Multi-entry long-term Business Visa requests are dealt by the Embassy on a case-to-case basis.

A letter from Armenian/Georgian company explaining the details of the company, nature of business with the Indian company and duration of business.
A letter from Indian Company (fax/e-mail) with the details of the company, nature of business dealing. In the cases of business dealing involving non-public Sector Units (non-PSUs), it would be necessary to provide a copy of the registration of the Company under Companies Act or proof of its registration in the State Industries Department or the concerned Export Promotion Council. The letter from Armenian/Georgian Company and the letter of invitation from Indian company should be submitted in duplicate. Omnibus expressions like ‘business visit’, ‘meeting’ etc should not be used. In case of consultants or individuals not working for any registered company or entrepreneurs, evidence of business dealing with Indian companies or businessmen must be provided. In case there is no past dealing with Indian companies, then proof of past business dealing with any other country and a letter of introduction from a reputed company in Armenia or Georgia, or Government department or Chamber of Commerce may be given.
In respect of foreigners holding positions like Directors/Managing Directors etc. in Indian companies, the copy of DIN number allotted by Indian authorities to be provided.
STUDENT VISA (STV)
Student Visa can be obtained on furnishing proof of admission to recognized universities/institutions in India. A letter of admission from the recognized educational institution with duration of the course is required in all cases. A letter of financial guarantee from the parents with their Passport/Identity Card and details of their profession should be submitted by the applicant. The Embassy may wish to obtain any other document to satisfy about the financial soundness of the applicant.

TRANSIT VISA (TRV)
Transit visas are valid for 15 days from the date of issue of the visa and must be obtained before departure. Transit Visas cannot be obtained from immigration counters at ports of entry in India. Evidence of onward travel to a destination outside India is required. Visa for the destination country should be obtained prior to applying for transit visa. Confirmed ticket for destination country should also be produced for Transit Visa. Transit Visa is valid for halts of up to 72 hours within 15 days from the date of issue. This visa is issued only for changing flights en route to another country. Evidence of onward travel outside India is required. Seamen are granted Transit visa to join their vessels in India on their Seaman Book and they should carry a valid International passport with them.

For Seaman in addition to the above documents, a letter from the shipping agency detailing the particulars of Seaman, the name of the vessel and port at which Seaman is joining the ship, Seaman Book and confirmed ticket are to be produced along with the application.
EMPLOYMENT VISA (EV)
Employment Visa is granted on production of an Employment contract from the Employer in India which should indicate all the terms and conditions of employment in India, including duration of the Contract, Salary, Accommodation, Medical, Income tax liability etc. The salary should be at least US$ 25,000/- or more per annum. In most cases involving non-public Sector Units (non-PSUs), it would be necessary to provide a copy of the certificate of registration of the company under Companies Act or proof of its registration in the State Industries Department or the concerned Export Promotion Council. The condition of above annual salary will not apply to Ethnic Cooks, Language Teachers (other than English Language Teachers)/translators, staff working for the concerned Embassy/High Commission in India. The foreigners who are eligible for honorary work with the NGOs registered in the country with a ceiling of honorarium of Rs.10000/= per month are also eligible for the Employment Visa. Fee will depend on the duration of the visa. The copy of the above documents should be sent to the Mission in advance. Foreigners granted Employment Visa are required to register themselves with the Foreigners Registration Office (FRO)/Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) in India within 14 days of their first arrival only. A foreign national coming to India for employment may initially be granted EV up to one year only. Further extension up to 5 years from the date of issue of visa could be obtained from Ministry of Home Affairs/FRRO in the concerned State in India as the case may be. Journalists of Accredited Press Organization and Newspapers can apply for Journalist Visa. Their application should be accompanied by letters from their employers giving details of the assignment the Journalist has been entrusted. Normally, they would have to wait for clearances from the concerned authorities in India. Therefore, application for Journalist Visa accompanied by all necessary documents should be submitted to the Mission at least six weeks before the scheduled departure. Journalists proceeding on tour to cover events or make documentary films etc., will have to fill up additional forms giving details of the documentary film, script, an undertaking and list of equipments that the delegation will carry.

ENTRY VISA (XV)
Long Term/Entry Visas are issued to persons of Indian origin (PIO & OCI card holders), their spouse and children for duration of up to five years. For spouses of Indian or of Indian origin, legalized/Apostilled Marriage certificate is required for issue of Ex-Indian Visa. Members of the family of a person employed in India are also eligible for Entry Visa. In the latter case, documents establishing the employment of the spouse along with a copy of his/her Employment Visa must be submitted. These will, however, be granted depending on the purpose of visit and eligibility on a case-to-case basis. An Entry Visa is given for a specific purpose or other purposes which do not fall under other categories or non-business related purposes. An Invitation letter is required from concerned organization/authorities in India. Valid for six months to five years stay with multiple entry. Long term 5 years entry visa is issued to people of Indian origin only and hence appropriate documentation is required to substantiate Indian origin e. g. Old Indian Passport copy or any other document, duly legalized or Apostilled as the case may be, that can establish applicant’s Indian nationality. Please note the validity of the visa is effective from the date of issue. For spouses of Indian or of Indian origin, legalized/Apostilled Marriage certificate is required for issue of Ex-Indian Visa.

Conference visa is generally issued to attend conferences/workshops/seminars and participation in the international sports events organized in India. Please note the validity of the visa is effective from the date of issue.

MEDICAL VISA (MV) (INCLUDING SURROGACY)
A Medical visa is granted to those who intend traveling to India for medical treatment. The visa can be single/multiple entry. Please note that relevant letters/documents explaining details of the treatment, signed and stamped by the concerned recognized hospitals/doctors are required to validate the purpose of travel. Please note the validity of the visa is effective from the date of issue. Any person seeking a visa to India for purpose of entering into a surrogacy arrangement must ascertain beforehand whether the law of Armenia/Georgia permits surrogacy and will provide appropriate travel documents to the child for accompanying the surrogate parents.
Visa for surrogacy arrangement :
Any person seeking a visa to visit India for purpose of entering into a surrogacy arrangement must ascertain beforehand whether the law of Armenia/Georgia permits surrogacy and will provide appropriate travel documents to the child for accompanying the surrogate parents. Entering into surrogacy arrangement under any other visa not sought for surrogacy is punishable under the Indian Law. Those who are going for surrogacy should obtain Medical and Medical Attendant Visas as applicable.

A Medical Attendant Visa is given to those who are accompanying a patient traveling to India for a medical treatment on a medical visa. This visa can be given to a close relative/family member or a friend of the patient. Please note that relevant letters/documents explaining details of the treatment, signed and stamped by the concerned hospitals/doctors, a declaration from the patient or an immediate family member is also required confirming the travel of escort along with the patient. Please note the validity of the visa is effective from the date of issue.

Relevant letters of the patient from concerned hospital in India including the hospital’s recognition certificate copy.
Research Visas are given to Research Scholars who wish to conduct the research work in India. Applicants are requested to obtain prior permission to conduct research project in India from the concerned authorities as and where applicable. Applicants are requested to apply at least six weeks before their date of departure to India and visas will be valid for entry into India four weeks after issue. Validity of the visa would coincide with the research period.

Normally Visas are issued on the next working day to Armenian and Georgian nationals and after four working days for other nationals. For visa cases requiring specific clearances from India, it may take longer duration.
